TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Overnight Traffic Impacts for Survey Work on Brent Spence Bridge

Thursday August 1, 2024

Traffic on southbound I-71/75 will be reduced to two lanes on the top deck of the bridge Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 5-6.

(Aug. 1, 2024) – Ahead of the Brent Spence Corridor Project breaking ground, crews will be performing overnight survey work on the Brent Spence Bridge. The work will begin Monday, Aug. 5, and require overnight lane closures.

Workers will be installing an anemometer, an instrument that measures wind speed and wind direction. Information collected by the anemometer will be used by the Walsh Kokosing Design-Build Team to inform the design of the new companion bridge that will be constructed as part of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project.

The lane closures are anticipated to impact southbound traffic on I-71 and I-75 in Ohio approaching the bridge. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes, such as I-471 southbound, while this important work is performed.

This work will include double lane closures on the Brent Spence Bridge between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.
