Committees

Committees

ODOT and KYTC are fully committed to robust public involvement to gain insights and receive feedback as part of the project development process.

The project team has engaged in thorough public involvement since the inception of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project and has worked closely with local partners to incorporate changes to the project that have already substantially reduced the impact to local municipalities while investing in underserved populations on both sides of the river.

Multiple stakeholder committees have been formed to support the public engagement process. Stakeholders serve a critical role, bringing valuable input from their constituents to the project team and serving as advocates for the project in their communities.

To date, three committees have been established: the Project Advisory Committee, the Aesthetics Committee, and the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

PROJECT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project is led by ODOT and KYTC with input from a group of stakeholders through a Project Advisory Committee. The committee was formed early in the project development process to better align the project with regional and community needs. Members include representatives from government agencies, community groups, and local businesses.

The role of the committee is to review various components of the project and offer feedback to ensure that the views of the community are addressed as the project is developed and implemented. Committee members act as liaisons between their respective organizations and communities and the project team. The committee also assists with distributing information provided by the project team.

The Project Advisory Committee was formed in 2005 during the development and selection of the Preferred Alternative. Their work continued in 2015 when toll-related studies were under consideration, and their work continues now as the project awaits a final funding package for construction.
